A Conway man involved in a foot chase Tuesday is facing multiple charges stemming from the incident.
Timothy Fields, 25, of Conway was arrested Tuesday afternoon and later transported to Faulkner County Detention Center Unit 2, where he was charged with theft by receiving, fleeing on foot, theft of property, two counts of fleeing with a vehicle, reckless driving, refusal to submit to arrest and second-degree battery.
Conway Police were notified by members of the Little Rock Police Department that a Penske moving van had been stolen earlier Tuesday morning and had been located in Conway by its GPS.
According to CPD public information officer LaTresha Woodruff, when officers approached the moving van, Fields fled the scene in an attempt to escape. The suspect ran eastbound on Parkway Avenue before being spotted by another officer running through the south parking lot of the Log Cabin Democrat. After running through to the north parking lot and crawling under an 18-wheeler, which was parked at the loading dock of the newspaper, Fields continued running east.
The suspect then attempted to steal a Dodge Ram pick-up truck, where an officer caught up with him and grabbed hold of his left arm to try and remove him from the vehicle. He was able to elude the officer and drive a short distance where he tried to jump from the vehicle as it was still moving and was apprehended.
Fields was transported to Conway Regional Medical Center, where he was examined and cleared for any possible injuries before being processed for booking at the FCDC.
