Conway Christian High School graduated 30 seniors Saturday at a commencement ceremony at Second Baptist Church, with the class receiving more than $1 million in scholarships.

Billy Crow, former Conway Christian School teacher and dean of students and current pastor of First Baptist Church in Waldron, delivered the commencement address. Rocky Hedrick spoke as the salutatorian, and Sarah Martin addressed students as the class valedictorian.

All three speakers shared insights from their pasts, and for the future, focused on remaining strong on the foundation of their faiths in the Lord. The choir performed two songs in the seniors’ honor, and a reception followed with family and friends.

The average GPA of the 2011 class was 3.7, and six students graduated with a 4.0 GPA.

Four students, according to Ana Thorpe, public relations spokesperson, scored above 30 on the ACT exam.

Senior Claire Summers was a National Merit Finalist.

Of the $1.9 million offered in scholarships, $1,075,850 were accepted by students.
