75 years ago (1936) Boy Scout troop No. 71 held its monthly court of honor last night at the Methodist church. Samey Cobean and Arthur Dunaway were received into the troop and given their tenderfoot badges. Edwin Biggs, Edwin Ledbetter and J.L. Kelton passed the second class requirements and received their badges. Thurman Gragson and Robert McCallum met the requirements and passed to first class. Robert Goldsborough completed the requirements for life rank. Four merit badges were passed by Kelton and Goldsborough. M.J. McHenry, Lodie V. Biggs, the Rev. Albea Godbold and T. M. Boyd attended the court. 50 years ago (1961)International Shoe Co. employees began a two-week vacation today. The plant each year closes for two weeks while all employees take their vacation at the same time. Work will resume June 12, J.E. Banks, office manager, said. 25 years ago(1986)Staff Sgt. Chris B. Robinson in North Little Rock, has been awarded the Army Achievement Medal. 10 years ago (2001)Daniel Wing, son of Jim and Carol Wing of Conway, and Eddie McCord, son of Keith and Pricilla McCord of Vilonia, and Tammy Roberts of Cabot, made up the first graduating class of Gospel Light Baptist Academy.
