Conway’s boys and girls tennis teams defeated Little Rock Catholic and Mount St. Mary in matches this week.

"Catholic and St. Mary’s are typically good teams, so we were pleased to fare so well against them," Conway coach Jeff Gifford said. "Our teams were competitive in all of their matches, and I am proud of our efforts."  

In girls singles action, Alex Taylor and Faith Guidry won 8-3 and 8-2, respectively. In doubles play, Amy Bell and Morgan Cummins won 8-6; Ashley Wofford and Jenny Walls won 8-0; Jenny Walls and Beth Turner lost 8-3; Molly Evans and Kortni Gifford won 8-6 and Ashley Wofford and Faith Guidry won 8-2.

In boys play, the Cats’ singles players split their matches.  Karthik Garimella lost 8-2 while Robbie Powell won 8-2.  In doubles action Sam Roberts and Kristian Lenser lost 9-7; Blake Bell and Quinlan Swain won 9-7; Matt Evans and Ryan Edwards won 8-4; Nikola Spadijer and Kyle Alexander won 8-3; Will Morris and Jacob Fahr lost 8-2 and Lincoln Reynolds and Jared Lambert lost 8-2.
