The annual Quapaw District Luncheon Meeting of Arkansas State Society of Daughters of the American Revolution was recently held at Mike’s Place in Conway.  

Carol Rolf, Regent of the Cadron Post chapter gave a welcome to Conway.

After the DAR opening ritual and invocation, honored guests were welcomed and introduced.

Attending Chapter members were from Cadron Post, Gaither, Dardanelle Rock, Gilbert Marshall, Little Rock-Centennial, Maria Van Buren, Persis Lovely-Clarksville and Prudence Hall. 

Officers and guests attending were Arkansas State Regent, Sue Thompson; State Parliamentarian and Honorary State Regent, Betty Harp; District Secretary, Beverly Merrick; District Treasurer, Denise Hickey; State Chaplin, Sharon Lessenberry; State Vice Regent, Jo Ann Cooper; Honorary State Regent, Mary Lee Shultz; Honorary State Regent, Fern Taylor; Honorary State Regent, Susan Veal; State Registrar, Valerie Scott; and State Historian, Mara Cawein. 

Stephanie Mason, Regent of Prudence Hall, read a portion of the Constitution Day Proclamation signed by Governor Mike Beebe declaring Sept. 1-23, as Constitution Week in Arkansas. Leeann Mobley, Regent of General William Lewis Chapter and Junior Membership Co-Chairman, gave a report on the solicitation of Junior Members. The 75th Anniversary of Junior Membership will be recognized at the State Conference in March 2012.

State Regent, Sue Thompson announced and presented Certificates for Chapter Achievement Awards to Chapter Regents.

State Regent Sue Thompson conducted a workshop on her new project, the proper storage of DAR records. State Regent Sue Thompson emphasized the importance of storing information of individual chapters and the District and State records and then went through details of all requirements.

Honorary Regent Mary Lee Schultz announced that the Major Jacob Grey Chapter is sponsoring a new Children of the American Revolution (CAR) Society, which will meet at Jacksonville Museum of History.
