Dropping to 48 degrees early today, the thermometer at Conway reached the lowest mark since the summer season began last June. Blankets were necessary for comfortable sleep last night and early risers found gas fires acceptable. Yesterday’s maximum of 81 was also in marked contrast with 100-degree temperatures of the first half of this month. Rising temperature was forecast for tonight and Saturday.
