The senior class of the Conway High School met Friday afternoon at the school auditorium with their sponsor, Miss Virginia Grinstead, and elected the following class officers: President, George Ligon; vice president, Sallie Douglass; secretary, Maunelle Waggoner; treasurer, Jean Kamp; reporter, Janice Hobbs. Junior Dunaway, Ann Wheat, Juanita Moren and Fred Gordy were appointed on the social committee.

Mrs. W.H. Gibbs of Conway and her daughter, Mrs. Daisy Lee Cooper of Winnemucca, Nev., were is Stuttgart last Thursday for a reunion at the home of Mrs. H.L. Way, Stuttgart Memorial Hospital dietitian.
At the reunion were four women, all related by birth or marriage to Mrs. Way, whose combined ages total 350 years. Mrs. Gibbs is 87. Others in the elderly group were Mrs. Sherman Williams, 89, of Little Rock; Mrs. G. W. (Lula) Scruggs, 87, of Palos Park, Ill., a native of Keo, Ark., and Mrs. W. L. Cobb, 87, of Little Rock.
Mrs. Scruggs and Mrs. Gibbs are grandmothers of Mrs. Way and Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Cobb are cousins. The four octogenarians have 19 children, 37 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Phi Kappa Alpha defeated Phi Lambda Chi 14-0 yesterday to win the University of Central Arkansas flag football championship for the third year in a row. Phi Kappa Alpha finished with a 5-0 mark and is coached by Hank Hawk of Conway.

Representing the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Tammy Barron, Linda Beene, Tina Freeman and Lorri Payne donated a $1,000 check to Jodie Hightower, executive director of the Faulkner County chapter of the American Red Cross. The money raised was from collection boxes, candles, cokes and pinwheels during last week’s vigil and will benefit the Red Cross Liberty fund for the Sept. 11 tragedy.
