Aggravated residential burglary, 2300 block of Apple Blossom St.

Officers were dispatched to the area when a woman called to report that her ex-boyfriend had just kicked in the door to her home and had taken her dog. The victim stated that she had dated the suspect at one time but not been in a relationship with the man in several months. The victim stated that the suspect had been threatening to take her dog, but she didn’t think he would actually do it. The victim stated that she was inside her home and had left the garage door up, which is how the suspect gained access to the door leading inside her home. After kicking the inside door, the suspect entered the home and began screaming at the victim. She was able to get the suspect outside, at which time he grabbed a boat paddle and came towards her. The victim stated that another man that was with the suspect stepped in and tried to get the suspect to leave the premises. The suspect left the scene, but took the victim’s dog before doing so. It is not known if the dog has been returned to the victim at this time.
