A. J. Carter of Conway has been employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and will be stationed at Hot Springs. He will report for work tomorrow. Mr. Carter has been with the soil conservation service warehouse for several months.

Three students from Faulkner County are among the almost 1,500 students enrolled at Arkansas Tech for the fall semester, according to Harold Overbey, registrar.

Students from this county attending Tech are Jerry Lee Brown, J. W. Hiland and Mary Jane Kniepkamp, all of Conway.

Whitney Wilson, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson of Conway, was recently crowned Little Miss Autumn at the Delta Beta Sigma sorority style show and pageant in Waldran Auditorium at the University of Central Arkansas.

Miss Wilson is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Edmondson and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson, all of Conway. 

Miss Wilson was a featured rider Wednesday in the downtown Conway street parade which kicked off the annual Faulkner County Fair.

Rose Balmaz of Conway will celebrate her 90th birthday on Saturday.

She was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Conway, a daughter of the late Amos and Rose Ficker Enderlin. She had 13 siblings and has lived her entire life here. Her father was a cotton farmer and owned a cotton gin in Conway.

Mrs. Balmaz married Felix Balmaz in 1935 and raised two children, a son and a daughter.

Mrs. Balmaz is the only living member of the first graduating class of St. Joseph High School.
