VILONIA — After a donation, libraries in the Vilonia School District grew Friday by about 950 books.
There were 3D books, children’s books and those suited for teenagers. Authors’ names were familiar.
Members of the United Way of Central Arkansas and members of the Vilonia Area Chamber of Commerce made the presentation to school librarians on behalf of First Book, a non-profit organization.
"The books were free to the district," said VACC president Debbie Townsend. "They just wanted to do something nice for the area because of the tornado."
The books will be divided between the elementary, primary, middle school and junior high, according to the librarians. UWCA applied and received a grant to cover the delivery costs.
