No child passenger protection/restraints, 2100 block of Donaghey Ave.

Officers initiated a routine traffic stop on a vehicle after they observed the driver cross the center line while driving. When they approached the vehicle, they discovered two adults and three minor children in the back seat of the vehicle. The children were not in car seats and the adults did not have on their seat belts. When the officers asked the driver for her driver’s license, she stated she thought it was in the trunk of her vehicle. When the woman opened the trunk, the officers noticed a child’s booster seat and asked why one of the children in the vehicle was not using it. The woman stated that she had just picked her friends up because their vehicle had broken down. The officers were notified by dispatch operators that the driver was driving with a suspended license due to being charged with driving while intoxicated. The driver was cited for driving on a suspended license and three counts of not using child safety restraints in the vehicle. The other adults in the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license, so the officers had the vehicle towed.
