Five Conway optometrists have agreed to participate in InfantSEE Week in Arkansas, an initiative to combat the number of undiagnosed children with eye and vision problems in the United States.
Participating Conway doctors are Dr. Leigh Cox, at Visioncare Arkansas on Hogan lane; Dr. Susan DeBlack, at DeBlack Eye Care Center on Tyler Street; Dr. Shane Ford and Dr. Eric Robbins, at Arkansas Eye Care Group on Fountain Drive; and Dr. Rebecca King, at Visioncare Arkansas on Skyline Drive.
Parents and guardians can take their infant to the doctors for a no-cost assessment.
According to InfantSEE, one in 10 infants is at risk from undiagnosed eye and vision problems, which, if undetected, could lead to permanent vision impairment and in rare cases, life-threatening health risks.
Assessments will be provided at no cost, regardless of family income or number of eligible children.
Eligible children are between six and 12 months of age.
