Four years of community effort will come to fruition Sunday, Oct. 30, when Conway is officially recognized as a Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists. Mayor Tab Townsell, the Conway Advocates for Bicycling, and other local cycling enthusiasts will gather at Simon Park in downtown Conway at 2 p.m. for the official recognition. Tom Ezell will represent the League in honoring the many local leaders who helped make this achievement possible. A celebratory ride throughout the city will follow the award festivities. This ride, to be led by University of Central Arkansas professor Ken Sobel, will be appropriate for cyclists of all ability levels. All biking citizens of Conway are invited to participate.
