Miss Mary Harton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Harton Jr. has been elected by the board of directors of the Conway public school to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Miss Hope Harrin.

Leaders of the Conway Junior High School band are Ray Williams, president; Walter Henze, ninth grade representative; Harold Clendenin, equipment manager; Keith Anthony, drum manager and vice president; Frances Henderson, librarian; Larry Ryan, seventh grade representative; Billy Landers, eighth grade representative; Bill Morgan, secretary-treasurer; Shirley Carter, Carolyn Glover and Paula Cato, majorettes; David Moore directs the band, which is one of the largest in the junior high school’s history.

Thomas Edwards has been promoted to sales manager at Conway Office & School Supply Inc. He will manage all salesmen and be in charge of coordinating sales efforts.

Edwards has worked at the business six years, most recently as an outside salesman.

He is a graduate of Mayflower High School and the University of Central Arkansas.

Edwards and his wife, Ranell, reside in Conway.

Conway Regional Health System’s Betty Diehl pinned a pink ribbon onto Barbara Herndon at a breast cancer awareness display at the Conway Regional Women’s Center. Also on hand were Martha Taylor of the Conway Regional marketing department, Conway Corporation marketing coordinator Crystal Kemp and Lori Ross of the Conway Regional marketing department.
