Mr. and Mrs. Anton Dussex announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Margaret Antoinette, to Thomas J. Guanella of Little Rock. The wedding will take place Nov. 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Conway.

Marine Pvt. Gretchen K. Ward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Ward of Conway, recently completed recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island, S. C.

Parris Island is the only training base for women Marines. It offers instruction in drill, Marine Corps history, military justice, personal standards, interior guard, typing, business English, spelling, filing, correspondence and other basic subjects.

Before entering the service in July, 1961, Miss Ward graduated from Conway High School.

Dina Teague of Conway, a sophomore communications major at Ouachita Baptist University, is among 27 contestants entered in the 67th annual Ouachitonian Beauty Pageant.

Miss Teague will represent the campus newspaper, "The Signal," as a contestant in the competition. She is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. M. W. Teague of Conway.

The Conway Vortex Under-10 soccer team won its age bracket at the AVSA Soccer Tournament in Russellville recently. The Vortex scored 25 goals in the four-game tournament and allowed just one goal on defense. That goal came in the tournament final, a 6-1 win over the Russellville Fusion. Jesse Light scored all six Vortex goals on assists from Brandon Klarner, Matt Russell, Wesley Cummins, Travis Avery and Drew Edwards. Other members of the Vortex include Alex Engeler, Connor McClain, Thomas Hays, Brooks Mickel, Tyler Keane, head coach Jim Keane, assistant coach Thomas Edwards and team manager Dan Klarner.
