Simple assault, 300 block of Beryl Road, Vilonia.

Deputies with the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence when a man called to report that he had been struck several times by two men who had shot a deer on his property. The man stated that the suspects told him that they had struck the deer with their vehicle, but there was no evidence of an accident and the deer had been shot in the neck. The man told the suspects that he was going to call the game warden and attempted to use his cell phone but one of the suspects took the phone and threw it in the woods. The suspects then struck the victim in the head several times and tried to take the license plate off of their vehicle. The victim was able to remember the plate number and gave it to the deputies when they arrived. The deputies photographed the man’s injuries and the game warden arrived to investigate the incident. The victim advised he would be able to pick the suspects out of a line up and officials are working to identify the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
