Domestic battery - third degree, 200 block of Second St.

An officer made contact with a 17-year-old boy and his grandmother when they came to the police station to report that the boy’s father had hit him. The boy told the officer that his father was upset because he had been caught smoking inside his father’s house. As a result of getting angry, the man struck the boy about the head and face. In an effort to defend himself, the boy stated that he bit his father on the right shoulder. After the boy bit his father, his father retaliated and bit the boy on the forearm, causing a large, red, bite mark. The boy’s grandmother had already taken him to the doctor in reference to the bite injury. The officer notified officials with the Arkansas Child Abuse hot line and the local office of the Department of Human Services. The boy was released to his grandmother and will remain in her custody. The boy’s father was arrested at his workplace for domestic battery and transported to the Faulkner County Detention Center where he was served with a no contact order for his son.
