Vilonia’s seventh-grade boys defeated Bob Courtway Middle School, 32-27, Monday night.
With the scored tied at 23 in the fourth quarter, the Eagles’ Hayden Patterson stole the ball and turned the layup into a three-point play to give Vilonia a three-point lead with 45 seconds left. The Eagles stopped BCMS on their next possession and ran the clock down to eight seconds until Patterson was fouled and sent to the free-throw line. Patterson made both free throws to give the Eagles the 32-27 lead.
Vilonia (2-0) on the season and will travel to Little Rock Christian this Saturday.
Matt Stanley (19 points), Hayden Patterson (nine), Brandon Phillips and Luke Gordon, two each led the Eagles.
Vilonia won the B game, 17-6, to move to 2-0.
