The seventh annual Miss Conway Christmas Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Conway.
Kavanaugh Millirons, a 13-year-old homeschool student in Conway, will be hosting the event. This is an annual fundraiser pageant for Toys for Tots. Each person who brings a new, unwrapped toy to the pageant, will be able admitted for free. The contestant who brings the most toys to the pageant will get a special crown and sash for being the Community Service Queen.
"We want to give young people a place where they can come and enjoy the pageant and also contribute to a worthy cause like Toys for Tots," Millirons said. "It’s important to let teens know they can make a difference in the lives of so many with just a little effort on their part."
Toys for Tots has reported that their collections are below the normal intake for this time. The pageant director, Tina Millirons, and Kavanaugh hope this collection will make a difference and help increase awareness of this need.
"Last year we collected over $500 worth of toys that were donated. We hope to collect more this year," Tina Millirons said.
If a toy is not donated, door admission is $5 for adults $3 for kids.
