A man who allegedly kicked his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach and assaulted her juvenile sister, remains at the Faulkner County Detention Center on a $3,095 bond.
Alberto Walrath, 25 of Conway was arrested after his girlfriend called for assistance following a dispute at their apartment.
According to a police report from the incident, when officers with the Conway Police Department made contact with the woman, she was sitting in a vehicle with her sister at the office of the apartment complex. The officers noted that they had been called to the residence before to deal with the parties involved and asked the woman if she intended to press charges this time. The woman stated that she did and the officers asked the woman and her sister to accompany them to the apartment.
Before making contact with Walrath inside the apartment, the officers asked if the women had injuries. Walrath’s girlfriend said that she had been choked and was scratched on her chest. She also stated that the suspect had kicked her in the stomach, knowing that she was pregnant.
The woman’s sister showed the officers a cut on her finger and a red mark on her face where the suspect had assaulted her.
The officers then attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he would not come to the door.
The suspect’s girlfriend asked if she could try to get him to come to the door since she did not have a key to get inside the apartment. An officer accompanied the woman and the suspect eventually answered the door to speak with the officers.
Walrath was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of domestic battery in the third degree and violating the conditions of his release from an earlier offense.
He was transported to the Faulkner County Detention Center but refused to write a voluntary statement or have his mug shots taken at the time of his arrest. He also refused to answer any of the officer’s questions as they were filling out his arrest report.
Neither woman sought medical attention as a result of the assault.
