The Liberty Fire Department "brought the heat" Friday night winning the chili cook-off at the Vilonia Primary School’s Family Supper.
"Our secret ingredient, fire," said firefighter Brittany Rappold who was manning the chili along with Summer Hatcher. "We brought the heat."
Hatcher, who actually did the cooking, said the secret ingredient is chilies.
Nine chili entries, the fire department red chili garnered the win. The Nice and Spice placed second and the Cowgirls placed third.
In conjunction, a chili supper was served with about 100 in attendance. Also, a silent auction and live auction was held resulting in many walking away with baskets and wares. Winners of the raffle drawings included: Regina Rihani, IPAD 2; Eric Henska, $500; and Jennifer Hillis, a Kindle Fire.
