Bethlehem Baptist Church

By HAZEL LOVE

We are having great worship services at Bethlehem. Bro. Martin has started a series on Sunday morning "Foundations For Life." February 12 the message title was "Good News For U," lesson text of John 10:10. The theme of the sermon was eternal and abundant life. The second message this past Sunday was "How To Be Certain U R Saved" - John 5:13.  Special music has been outstanding. On the 12th Lori Reynolds blessed us, singing "We’ll All Bow Down." Last Sunday Robin Clark played a beautiful piano arrangement of "His Eye Is On The Sparrow."

Tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the Family Life Center there will be a baby shower honoring baby Alyssa Oaks, daughter of Josh and Kayla Oaks. Proud grandparents are Larry and Karen Oaks.

Next Sunday will be a wedding shower for Magge Murry and Ethan Barnes at 4 p.m. in the FLC.

Bethlehem mourns the loss of it’s lifetime member, Mrs. Bernice Burgess. Her funeral service was at Bethlehem this past Wednesday. The church provided lunch after the service for the family. I noticed that Mrs. Bernice’s pink pillow that she always put behind her back was still on the pew. Praise God, she does not need that for support any more.

If you do not have a church home, we invite you to visit with us at Bethlehem. We have programs and services for all ages. You may visit our website, www.bethlehembaptistchurch.info, for services and times. We would love to have you worship with us.

Have you ever heard a message preached on "Sound"? That’s what Pastor Bob preached on this past Sunday. There were many scriptures given to us, but I will give you a few.  Acts 2:2 "And suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." Romans 10:18 But, I say, Have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound went into all the earth and their words unto the ends of the world. I Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? And Psalms 89:15 Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of they countenance. There are many more scriptures to read and the message was awesome.

We have had so many people sick, with bronchitis, flu, sinus problems, including me and we are praying for you all. We are also praying for Sharon Watts who has a fractured spine and pelvis, and for Royce and Edith Johnson, the Rev. Bobby Majors and many more who needs the Lords touch. Please keep our country in your prayers, it needs God.

"Some think God is like medicine; you don’t need Him when you’re feeling well." "About all some people are giving these days is the flu."
