A light snowfall began here early this afternoon, but lasted only a short time and was not sufficient to cover the ground. Snow or freezing rain, however, was forecast for both tonight and Saturday and the temperature was expected to remain low tonight.

Greenbrier’s Charlsie Castleberry was named to the Class B senior girls all-state team for the third year in a row at the climax of the state meet here Saturday night. Janie Clifton was also named to the all-state team.

Miss Castleberry scored 80 points in three games. Miss Clifton was chosen for outstanding defensive player.

The Greenbrier team, eliminated in the semifinals, 3734, by Parkin, was awarded the sportsmanship trophy.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Dayer of Conway are parents of a daughter, Meghan Elizabeth, born Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1987) at Baptist Medical Center. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces. The couple also have a son, Zacahry, 3. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dayer of Conway and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Newman of Prairie View (Logan County). Lolita McCarville of Conway is a great-grandmother.

Chrisite Imboden and Dodd Harmon, both of Conway, were entertained at a Mexican fiesta party Feb. 16 at the Conway home of Samantha Ethridge.

Co-hosts were Chad Moore, David and Jennifer Davis, Tim and Beth Coney, all of Conway, and Toby and Sara Nutt of Fordyce.

The hosts presented the couple with individual gifts.

Special guests included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Imboden, parents of the bride-elect; Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Harmon, parents of the prospective groom; and Mr. and Mrs. Craig Imboden, brother and sister-in-law of the prospective groom.

Miss Imboden and Mr. Harmon are to be married at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, in Greene Chapel at Hendrix College.
