A Conway woman proved to be a good samaritan to an out-of-state visitor on Monday.

A Texas man had reported the wallet missing to police on Sunday night after leaving IHOP in Conway. He told police the wallet contained almost $2,000 in cash and his birth certificate, social security card and driver's license. The man said he did not know whether he had lost the wallet at the restaurant or at a truck stop somewhere along I-30 just inside the state line.

The woman told police she found the wallet containing $1,447 in cash in a parking lot near Payless Shoe Store in Conway on Monday. Officers entered the wallet in to evidence and contacted the man to let him know that his wallet had been returned with possessions intact.
