Police were dispatched to Cadron Settlement Park shortly after midnight on Saturday to assist the Faulkner County Rescue Squad in locating boaters who were stuck on a sand bar.

According to the police report, two women and two men on a boat hit a sand bar and lost their motor. The caller reported that the two men were intoxicated.

Upon arrival, officers met with a man who advised that his two daughters were the two women on the boat. The man was able to contact his oldest daughter by phone, who told her father that the group had launched the boat on the Cadron Creek and had followed the creek to the river. The girl used her iPhone to determine her location and texted a picture of a map to FCSO Sheriff’s Maj. Andy Shock.

Two sheriff’s deputies and members of the rescue squad located the group and brought the boat back to the park.

No one was injured.
