Greenbrier residents were shaken awake early Sunday morning as a 3.3 earthquake rumbled through the community at about 3 miles below the surface.

Capt. Matt Rice of the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office said a dispatcher who lives in Greenbrier reported the shaking was "scary."

There were no reports of damage.

Earthquake activity in Faulkner County has died down in recent months following a year of hundreds of quakes that "swarmed" in 2011, most notably a 4.0 quake in February, 2011.
