With Election Day less than 60 days away, political candidates will be provided an opportunity to address voters in the Vilonia area.
The Vilonia Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Political Forum/Pie Auction to be held at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 8, in the Senior Citizens Building.
"This is being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce but it is open to the public," said Jill Bonnema, chamber executive officer. "It will give everyone a chance to meet and ask questions and find out what the candidates have to bring to the office."
Homemade pies will also be auctioned off, Bonnema said, with the proceeds going to purchase banners for the city.
The event is open to all politicians. She said she has received confirmation from about 12 politicians. Also, she said, there will be some in the audience who are not required to run this year. Politicians who have not confirmed but wish to participate, Bonnema said, should call the chamber to be placed on the agenda at 501-499-1312.
