LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas highway officials say driving has become treacherous in all but far northwestern and far southeastern Arkansas as winter weather makes its way across the state.
Blizzard conditions are possible in the northeastern section of Arkansas, and snow-slickened highways are the rule northwest of a line from El Dorado to Blytheville — except for far northwestern Arkansas.
Highway department officials have said the state was fortunate that the snowstorm hit on Christmas Day, when many travelers were already at their destinations.
Roads will still be slick Wednesday morning. Police are urging that people not drive unless it is absolutely necessary.
