Among reports recently released by the Conway Police Department:

• Public intoxication, Harkrider Street.

A North Little Rock man, who claimed to be celebrating a Mexican holiday, was arrested Monday morning for public intoxication after Conway police found the man wandering streets near downtown.

Police were notified of the man by a Greenbrier police officer around 10:09 a.m. When Conway officers made contact with the 43-year-old man, on a Harkrider Street sidewalk, he was "staggering and having a problem keeping his balance," and "was close to falling into oncoming traffic," the police report states.

Officers took the man to the intersection of Harkrider and Pine streets, where police noted the man "smelled strongly of intoxicants."

The man told police he had been drinking as part of a celebration of a Mexican holiday, but when asked what holiday, the man admitted it was only his brother’s birthday.

At that point, police took the man into custody and transported him to the Faulkner County jail.

• Residential burglary, Oaklawn Drive.

A Conway man says more than $12,000 of lawn care tools were stolen from his garage, at his residence in the 100 block of Oaklawn Drive, between Sunday night and Monday morning.

The 27-year-old man said he knows his garage door was closed, and believes the only way someone would have been able to gain access was by using the garage door opener in his work vehicle, which was parked beside his residence. The police report does not state if the vehicle was left unlocked.

Police found no signs of forced entry, and no other items from the garage were taken.

The items stolen, which included a zero turn mower, four trimmers and multiple leaf blowers among other tools, were valued at $12,700 in the police report.

• Theft of property, Harkrider Street.

Conway police are investigating the theft of a bike, believed to have occurred between Saturday morning and Sunday evening at the Hendrix Athletic Center.

The 26-year-old victim told police she parked the bike, valued at $520 in the police report, around 10 a.m. Saturday, and returned around 5 p.m. Sunday to find it missing.

The victim claimed to have secured the bike before leaving it. It was described as a black, Specialized brink bike with "Specialized" written in white. The bike was also said by the victim to have pink handle bars.

• Public intoxication, Dave Ward Drive.

A Conway man was arrested by police Saturday night for public intoxication at the Walmart, located at 3900 Dave Ward Drive.

Witnesses told police the 23-year-old man was seen vomiting near a silver, 2002 Volvo S80. Witnesses also say they observed the man in the fetal position after vomiting. When approached by an onlooker, the man ran to his vehicle and drove toward Walmart from the Murphy gas station.

Police observed the man walking toward the garden entrance of the store. Officers noted a strong smell of intoxicants coming from the man, who also displayed bloodshot eyes and appeared to have vomit on his shorts, which were unzipped, police said.

Police said the man also displayed slurred speech and swayed back and forth.

When asked if he had consumed any alcohol, the man answered no and told officers he had done "nothing f------ wrong," the police report states.

The man was then taken into custody and transported to the Faulkner County jail.
