The Conway High School girls softball team will have bathrooms before their first game if everything goes as planned.
The Conway Public Schools’ Board of Education approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the project at their meeting Nov. 12.
The GMP came from Nabholz Construction Services and amounts to $217,240, which includes a $10,000 contingency.
Assistant Superintendent Carroll Bishop said this project has been in the works for several months.
The school already has plumbing "not too far from that," Bishop said, and they will need a new manhole for the projects.
"We’ve got sewar and water and lines just about everywhere you’d want them on that campus," he said.
The bathroom will look similar to the other bathrooms at Conway High School’s outdoor athletic facilities.
The projected finish date is Jan. 31, 2014.
Also at the board meeting, Bishop said he checked on what was happening to fix the damage at Carolyn Lewis Elementary School after a car hit the building.
Bishop said bids are coming in to re-brick the corner that was hit. The damage will cost between $15,000 and $30,000. The school system’s insurance will cover the cost and will recoup that money from the driver’s insurance company.
Bishop also said the driver is doing well after the accident, which occurred Oct. 25.
