Conway First United Methodist Church

The Conway Composers Guild presents its annual concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in the Sanctuary of Conway First United Methodist Church. The recital is part of the church’s Under the Dome series of recitals.

Young composers who are residents of Arkansas were eligible to compete for the Finale MakeMusic Inc. Prizes and a commission are offered by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra’s Artistic Director Philip Mann.

The concert and awards ceremony are free and open to the public with a reception to follow.

Voluntary donations to the Conway Composers Guild or the Under the Dome series of First United Methodist Church are gratefully accepted.

New Beginning Church

"The godly and the wicked" was what our message was on Sunday night. The happy state of the godly and the short lived prosperity of the wicked. Psalms 37 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in His way. For the Lord loveth justice, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; the end of the wicked shall be cut off. 1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

This was a messaged that both saints and sinners needed to hear. 1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand; be ye, therefore soberminded, and watch unto prayer. Thanks, Pastor Bob for a message that touches the soul.

Many prayers go out to the Jay Speck family. Pastor Bob and I have had the honor of knowing and serving the Lord with Bro. Jay Speck and Sis. Laverne Speck in years past. We are praying for you all.

"Faith builds a bridge from this world to the next, but there are some whose faith is not strong enough to bring them to church services, but they expect it to take them to heaven."

We want to wish Debbie Passmore a very happy and blessed birthday Feb. 3.
