Faulkner County was covered overnight Monday with one to two inches of sleet accumulation, and with a high of just 25 degrees, significant melting did not occur.
Well-traveled roadways in the county showed clear spots, but ice patches were prevalent. Refreezing was expected to occur overnight.
The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department reported ice on Interstate 40 from Russellville to Conway, and sleet covering Highway 65 from Conway to Clinton, and ice and patches of ice on the interstate to Little Rock.
The low Monday evening was predicted to be around 12 degrees, according to the National Weather Service of Little Rock.
Tuesday’s high is predicted to be just over freezing at 35 degrees. Conditions will be mostly clear with a low around 18.
Wednesday’s high is near 43.
