As Faulkner County recovers after the deadly tornado that ripped through the lives and homes of many residents, United Way of Central Arkansas has set up a Recovery and Rebuilding Fund at Simmons First Bank to ensure help is here after emergency services have left the area.

The fund has been set up through the UWCA office and guarantees 100 percent of the monies donated to this fund will be used for tornado recovery with zero administrative costs taken off the top.

A committee has been set up to determine how to use the funds most effectively. This committee, meeting initially this Friday, will decide how to best aid the victims of the tornado. Committee members include representatives from the UWCA board, Faulkner County Administrator’s office, the DHS Division of County Operations, Offices of Incident Commanders for Vilonia and Mayflower, the Ministerial Alliance and the City of Conway.

As this committee meets they will collectively assess and determine the best course of action to help these towns recover after emergency services have done their part to meet the immediate needs of those affected.
