In relaxing after some practices, University of Central Arkansas has been flipping channels and watching some late-night action movies.

He merged that into an evaluation of his football team at the first Bearbackers luncheon of the season on Monday.

"I’d see "You Only Live Twice," and "Live and Let Die" and "Goldfinger" and you wonder who is going to be James Bond this week," he said. "This year, we have some players who are stepping into new roles. Whether this is episode 1 or episode 4 or 5, it is time to step up and be ‘the guy."

Campbell listed several players who are new or have been off the radar who are expected to take on frontline roles:

Senior ide receiver Brandon Cox: "He has done a lot of good things the last two years, a lot of little things that don’t show up on the stat sheet," Campbell said. "When he came here, Jatavious Wilson was entrenched at his position. He has been waiting for his opportunity."

Senior wide receiver Roman Gordon: "When you start putting together his highlight reel, he has made some big plays but he has not had a lot of opportunities because of the people ahead of him," he said.

Freshman wide receiver Brandon Myers: "He’s a smart football player," Campbell said. "He could jump on the scene pretty quickly."

Freshman wide receiver Lujuan Winningham: "We plan to redshirt him, but he is showing a lot of good stuff. We’ll use him if we need to."

Redshirt freshman running back Kierre Crossley: "He’s an electric guy. He should be a good complement to Carlos Blackman."

Senior noseguard Javian Williams: "He was working out in our facility all May, when players usually take time off. He’s lost 20 pounds. He’s now a svelte 360 pounds and he understands his role. This is his chance."

True freshman defensive lineman A’Javius Brown: "He has shown ability to make plays as a true freshman."

Redshirt freshman defensive back Robert Roachell: "Probably the best athlete on our team."

Redshirt freshman defensive end Nathan Grant: "Looks like a young Jonathan Woodard."

Sophomore defensive back Trai Mosley: "He’s in a battle for a cornerback spot"

Redshirt freshman safety Jackie Harville: "Probably the second-best athlete on our team."

Injuries: All-America candidate offensive lineman is out for the season with a shoulder injury and will be redshirted. Senior linebacker Dalvin Simmons will also be redshirted because of an injury. Senior defensive end Cardell Best is out indefinitely because of the after-effects of foot surgery last spring.

Next week: Because of the Labor Day holiday, the Bearbackers luncheon next week will be a noon Tuesday at the Hall of Fame Room at Estes Stadium.
