Mary Betty Wimberly, 69, of Conway died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010 at Conway Regional Health System. She was born Dec. 27, 1940 in Morrilton, a daughter of the late Jack Willard and Lucy A. (Payne) McCarty. A graduate of the Arkansas Baptist School of Nursing, she was a Registered Nurse for more than 45 years, having worked with the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care, the Conway Human Development Center and was assistant director of nursing at Heritage Nursing and Rehab in Conway.
She loved being a nurse and taking care of the elderly. Mary was a baptist, loved the Lord and her family. She celebrated her life on her own terms and her family all agree that they see her death as a new beginning and one day they will all be reunited.
She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, but did vegetable gardening and liked canning the vegetables she and her family raised. Ms. Wimberly’s artistic side provided her talent for making wedding cakes, acrylic paintings, ceramics and crocheting.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Renee’ Henry and husband Allen of Vilonia, Eric Wimberly and wife Kelly, Amanda Coleman, and Marc Wimberly; the father of their children, Edward Allen Wimberly, all of Conway; grandchildren, Matthew and Michael Coleman, Abbie and Olivia Wimberly, Meagan Townsell and Lindsay Fornash; a great-grand daughter, Brylee Townsell is on the way; a sister, Martha Dail and husband David of Little Rock.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, in Morrilton, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Conway. 501-327-7727.
The family would like to offer a special thanks and appreciation to Conway Regional Health System and Dr. Shaver and staff.
