Henry Arlus Thompson, 92, of Quitman passed away Dec. 26, 2010, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
Born at Enola on Aug. 5, 1918, he was the son of the late William Anthony and Letha Adelaide Chambers Thompson.
A longtime resident of Cleburne County, Mr. Thompson was a retired assembly line worker for an automotive equipment manufacturer. He had been a Mason for 55 years and was a member of the Holland Masonic Lodge 158 at Quitman. Mr. Thompson’s religious belief was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Annie Irene Thompson of Quitman; sons, Herman A. "Sonny" Thompson and wife, Sharon K., of Conway and William Timothy Thompson and wife, Samantha, of Greenbrier; daughters, Sharon Sue Hodges and husband, Don, of Conway and Sandra Irene Greene and husband, Roger, of Quitman; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Olmstead Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Olmstead Chapel with the Rev. Matthew Cockran officiating.
Interment with Masonic rites will follow in the Pearson Cemetery.
Eric Thompson, Shawn Thompson, Michael Thompson, Norman Thompson, Chris Greene and Tony Hodge will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Derek Henry Thompson, Justin Holmes, Daniel Hess, Doug Cooper, Randy Burbridge, Roger Thompson and Don Stickles.
