Joe Oran Halsey, 53, of Greenbrier passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010.
He was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Conway.
Joe was a graduate of Greenbrier High School and UCA. He was a member of the Greenbrier United Methodist Church. He was a long time employee of the Arkanas Department of Emergency Management. Joe was an active member of the McNew Cemetery Board. He was skilled at vintage restoration. Joe loved metal detecting, especially for Civil War relics.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oran Halsey.
Joe is survived by his mother, Pearl Lea Halsey; two sisters, Pat Torian and husband, Frank, and Pam Day and husband, Jim, all of Greenbrier; nieces, Christy Torian of Denver, Colo., Kelly Torian of Houston, Texas, and April Tilley and husband, Doug, of Greenbrier; great nieces, Ally Torian of College Station, Texas, and Hannah Tilley of Greenbrier; and a great-nephew, Tanner Tilley of Greenbrier.
Vistitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with the Rev. John Farthing officiating.
Burial will follow at McNew Cemetery in Centerville.
Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Burgin, Jeff Ward, Doug Ward, John Spann, Daniel Bailey and Dale Halbrook.
Honorary pallbearers are Earl Glover, Jim Glover, Bill Bradshaw, Ben Bradshaw, Tom Dixon, David Whitehead and Larry Halsey.
Memorials can be made to the McNew Cemetery Association.
