FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — Former Southwest Conference football rivals Arkansas and Texas Tech have announced plans to play each other.
UA said in a news release Wednesday that the Razorbacks and Red Raiders will play in Lubbock on Sept. 13, 2014, and in Fayetteville on Sept. 19, 2015.
Arkansas and Texas Tech last played in 1991 before the UA joined the Southeastern Conference. Texas Tech later became a member of the Big 12.
The Red Raiders won the 1991 game played in Lubbock 38-21. Arkansas holds an all-time 28-7 record against Tech.
"The addition of Texas Tech gives us a quality non-conference opponent for the first two years when the world of college football changes with the playoffs in 2014," head coach Bret Bielema said. "We anticipate strength of schedule being a factor in deciding which teams are selected."
