St. Joseph’s girls used a balanced attack to finally prevail in double overtime Thursday against Bigelow at the Family Activity Center.

The Lady Bulldogs (9-11) outscored Bigelow, 13-4, in the second overtime period for a 57-48 victory.

Amber Briggler had 11 points, three assists and five recoveries. Joanie Elsinger added 10 points, 10 rebounds, f0ur assists and two recoveries. Rachel Prall added nine points and 10 rebounds. Piper Mullaney added nine points.

The Lady Bulldogs hit 16 of 22 free throws.

The Bulldogs won the senior boys game, 48-32.

Jacob Welter led with 12 points an five rebounds and four assists. David Beck had nine points and nine rebounds and three assists. Triple Williams had eight points, five rebounds and three steals. Other leaders were: Daniel Lee Kordsmeier, five points; Brad Vandiver, five points; Jack Briggler, four points and four assists.

In junior boys, St. Joseph used a balanced attack for a 49-21 win.

Leaders were: Timmy Coney, eight points, five rebounds; Matthew Brorman, seven points; Lucas Welter, seven points, five rebounds; John McKenna, seven points; Caleb Hiegel, five points, three assists, three steals; Gus Longing, three points; Luke Bruich, three assists; Hunter Watkins and Will Schichtl, two assists.


Two free throws by Jalyn McBride with .06 seconds left Thursday clinched an 82-78 victory by Central Baptist College over Park University at Reddin Fieldhouse.

The victory gives CBC an 8-5 conference mark and 13-6 overall, moving them into a tie fir fourth in the American Midwest Conference.

Marcelious Green scored 24 points and McBride added 22.

The Mustangs shot a season high 58 percent from the field.

Park won the women’s game, 77-62.

Aaliyah Block scored 11 points and posted 15 rebounds for the Lady Mustangs. Audrey Moran added 14 points. Morgan Fimpel scored nine and had six rebounds. Emily Ridgell added eight points..

The loss drops CBC to 3-11 in conference play and 4-15 overall


In a game at Mayflower, the Lady Eagles’ senior girls romped to a 35-2 halftime lead on the way to a dominating, 51-13 victory over Lisa Academy.

Tori Lasker had 14 points for Mayflower.

Greenbrier seventh girls

Greenbrier’s seventh-grade girls ran their record to 11-1 Thursday with a 26-18 victory over Carl Stuart Middle School.

Emma Rehm led Greenbrier with 14 points. Cali Kennedy added four

The Lady Panthers (6-3-1) won the B game, 11-9. Hanna Jo Pinksten had three points for Greenbrier and Victoria Corker, Paige Hawkins, Erin Flake and Keelee Carroll, two each.

Faulkner Lady Falcons

The Faulkner County Lady Falcons homeschool team defested Community Christian of Russellville, 43-13.

The Lady Falcons were led by senior Victoria Gerbholz with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore Abbie Beth Corder added 17 points, 10 rebounds and ssix assists. Paige Benefield and Kayla Tyler both added four points.
