The University of Central Arkansas tennis team took a 5-2 victory over New Orleans in a rain-delayed Southland Conference match at New Orleans.

After dropping the doubles point in each of the past two matches, Central Arkansas (12-5, 5-3 SLC) took the second and third contests to secure the doubles point for the 14th time this season.

Amiru Shimoguchi and Chunan Xiang and QiLi Ma and Rada Manataweewat won their matches.

Pornpawee Pramethong pushed the Sugar Bear lead to 2-0 to start singles play, Shimoguchi, Ma and  Xiang won their matches

Hendrix softball

HendriX (16-13) swept a softball doubleheader Monday from Centenary, winning 5-3 and 5-1.

Emily Stockalper won the first game. Karli Sewell was 3 for 3 with two RBI. Nikki Sanders also had two RBI.

Savannah Draud threw a four-hitter and struck out six in the second game.

Hendrix baseball

The Hendrix baseball team (11-21, 4-11) split with Oglethorpe on Senior Day on Sunday.

The Warriors won the first game, 9-4, and lost the second, 4-1.

Drew Judson had two hits and three RBI in the first game.

Seniors Judson, Jake Wiegand, Colin Martell and Matthew Lillard were honored before the first game.

CBC softball

The Central Baptist College softball team began a stretch of 16 games over 14 days Monday with a doubleheader loss to Northeastern State of Oklahoma.

The Mustangs (17-16) lost to the NCAA Division II Riverhawks (25-18), 8-3 and 10-8.

Kymberlie House started game one and allowed eight hits and five runs (three earned) in 5.1

innings and was the loser for the third time in 13 decisions.

Kaylee St. John hae a two-run home run in the second game.

CBC will be back at City of Colleges Park on Thursday for a doubleheader against Ecclesia.
