GREENVILLE, Ill. — Westminster College defeated Hendrix teams twice here during the Greenville Tip-off Classic.
In men’s play Westminster College led the entire 40 minutes to earn a 63-53 win over the Warriors.
After knocking down 15 3-pointers in their win over Greenville College on Friday night, the Warriors shot just 28.6 percent (6-of-21) from behind the arc and 34 percent from the field.
Hendrix did not have a player in double-digits as Dane Nielsen and junior Nick Heathscott led the way with nine points apiece. Heathscott and first-year John Zimmerman both added six rebounds and Rizos finished with a team-high four assists.
The Warriors fall to 1-2 overall and now travel to LeTourneau University on Tuesday.
In the women’s game, Hendrix College and Westminster College battled through 10 ties and 12 lead changes in the first half with the Titans finally prevailing 65-60.
Christina Byler led Hendrix with 15 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Junior Anna Roane added 12 points on three 3-pointers. Henderson, junior Katy Ashley-Pauley and junior Caty Hensy led the team with six rebounds apiece.
The Warriors fall to 1-2 on the season and will play the University of Dallas on Monday.
