Hendrix College went 1-2 over the weekend after matches No. 21 University of Texas at Tyler on Friday, and then Southern Collegiate Athletic COnference foes Austin College and Rhodes College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Hendrix suffered a hard-fought, 6-3, loss against nationally ranked UT-Tyler. Junior Michael Gardner outlasted Henrique Bellini in a 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 thriller at No. 1 singles. Freshman Tim Dinehart also took a win at No. 3 singles, while Gardner and sophomore Richie Litterst took a 9-7 victory at No. 1 doubles.

On Saturday, the Warriors cruised to a 6-3 win as they opened the SCAC season against Austin College. Gardner, Litterst, senior Kent Dunson and junior Ben Thomas swept No. 1 through 4 singles, respectively. Dunson teamed up with sophomore Udai Garimella for the W in No. 2 doubles. Dinehart and Thomas brought home a, 8-3 win in No. 3 doubles.

Rhodes (No. 11 Atlantic South Region) handed Hendrix a 9-0 decision to wrap up the weekend.

Hendrix will now travel to Sherman, Texas for three games on March 11 and 12. The Warriors will face McMurray University on March 11 and then Hardin-Simmons University and Occidental College on March 12.
