IRVING, Texas — Hendrix College powered to a 10-1 mercy rule victory over host University of Dallas on Sunday after dropping three close games at the Wyndham Las Colinas Classic over the weekend at Crusader Field.

Hendrix (2-4) was led by senior Jaclyn Herrera, first year Alex Sullivan and sophomore Paula Burr at the plate in the final game on Sunday. Herrera was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, Sullivan 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Burr went 3-for-4 with two triples and three runs scored.

Junior Ashley Halbert picked up her first win of the year win after four innings, three strike outs, two walks and just one hit.

Hendrix lost 5-2 and 3-1 to Nebraska Wesleyan and 4-2 to Cornell in the three other games.

Hendrix will now prepare to host the second annual Warrior Spring Fling Friday and Saturday. Hendrix will face MacMurray College (noon) and University of Dallas (4 p.m.) on Saturday and then take on Washington University at 11 a.m. Sunday.
