MUSKOGEE, Okla. — The Central Baptist College men’s soccer team posted its first win of the season, taking a 5-1 victory over Bacone College.

The win came after a 1-0 loss to No. 5 Bethel University earlier in the week.

T.J. Rodriguez and Liam Levy-Phillip both had two goals apiece to pace the Mustangs. Conway’s Luis Beltran also scored in the win.

CBC, which outshot the home team 12-2, led 4-1 at the half. The Mustangs got a strong performance from Chance Murphy as hits goal keeper position.

The CBC men will be back in action Friday at No. 3 Midwestern State in Witchita Falls, Texas.

WOMEN

The Lady Mustangs dropped their season opener, falling 2-1.

Ashley Baldwin scored CBC’s lone goal, as she took an assist from Ashley English to find the back of the net in the first half.

Rachel Rogers had a strong game in goal for the Lady Mustangs.

The CBC women will be back in action Thursday against the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville.
