Freshman forward Erika Jasso scored a school-record four goals as the Hendrix College field hockey team shut out Transylvania 6-0 at Warrior Field on Saturday.

Just six games into the season, Jasso, a native of Oceanside, Calif., also broke the single-season record with 10 goals and 22 points for the year.

Jasso scored the first goal of the game for the Warriors (5-1) on a pass from freshman Dani Coley. Jasso also scored goals in the 50th, 56th and 62nd minutes, with junior forward Kelly Rappe’ assisting the final goal. Junior defender Maggie DesPain scored a goal in the 56th minute on a penalty corner pass from sophomore defender Jennifer Koller. Rappe’ also scored in the 59th minute on a pass from Coley.

The Warriors outshot the Pioneers (2-5) 29-2. Hendrix also had a 17-5 advantage in penalty corners. 

The Warriors will return to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Friday at Sewanee.
