OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — The University of Central Arkansas men’s golf team was dominant in the first two rounds of the Bill Ross Intercollegiate on Monday, shooting 17-under to take a 30-stroke lead over the 11-team field at Milburn Golf and Country Club.
Freshman Pep Angles shot 67-64 for a tournament-best 13-under 131. Senior Antonio Costa had 65-72 for a 7-under 137 and is in second place, while senior Josh Sims stands tied for 10th with rounds of 72-74 — 146. Freshman David Morago 75-72 — 147 and is tied for 14th, while senior Chris Cooke is tied for 31st (73-78 — 151)
UCA freshman Oliver Baker, playing as an individual, shot 74-76 — 150 and is tied for 24th.
UCA shot 277-282 for a 559, followed by Arkansas State at 589, Missouri-Kansas City and Missouri State (590), Illinois State (591), South Dakota State (593), Oral Roberts (596), Creighton (597), Northern Iowa (603), Drake (619) and North Dakota State (625).
The final round will be played Tuesday.
