The Hendrix College field hockey team lost to Rhodes College 2-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday at Warrior Field.

The Warriors fall to 8-4 overall and 1-3 in the league with just two games to play in the regular season, while the Lynx improve to 7-6 and 3-1.

Kat Simpson gave Rhodes a 2-0 lead with a pair of unassisted goals in the 21st and 46th minutes, respectively. Hendrix answered with a goal in the 48th minute by junior defender Maggie DesPain, her eighth of the season. Freshman forward Erika Jasso with the assist.

Rhodes outshot Hendrix 12-5 and 10-3 in shots on goal. Freshman keeper Betsy Kelly had five saves and sophomore Jennifer Koller recorded two defensive saves and DesPain had one. Lynx keeper Jordan Robinson had two saves.

The Warriors will be back in action on Friday when they host Sewanee at 3 p.m.
