The Hendrix College men’s tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over Millsaps College at the Mabee Center on Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Warriors improve to 3-4, while the Majors fall to 0-2.
Hendrix picked up two points right off the bat with Millsaps being down a player. The Warriors went on to win both of the doubles matchups — senior Michael Gardner and freshman Robert Sheets defeating David Bastian and Charles Reese 8-2 at No. 1, and No. 2 senior tandem Ben Thomas and Kent Dunson downing Adam Tilly and Misa Pjevac 8-1.
The Warriors need just one victory in singles to seal the win. Thomas picked up the deciding victory at No. 4 singles by defeating Pjevac 6-0, 6-1. Gardner earned a win at number one, defeating Bastian 6-0, 6-3.

At No. 5 singles, Warrior freshman Nick Berardi overcame a 6-2 first set, taking the second 6-3 and forcing a tiebreaker. Down 8-4 in the tiebreaker, Berardi rattled off the next six points to win 10-8.
