Hendrix College senior center Nick Heathscott was named to the Capital One Men’s Basketball Academic All-America Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Tuesday. 

Heathscott is the fifth student-athlete in Hendrix history to be selected to an Academic All-America team. 

Heathscott, a former all-stater from St. Joseph, was the Warriors’ second-leading scorer and rebounder with 13.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. He ranked eighth in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring and 11th in rebounds. Heathscott was also ninth in the league in free throw percentage at 75.3 percent. For his career, Heathscott scored 1,154 points, ranking 23rd in school history.

Heathscott maintained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.96 while majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
