CLARKSVILLE  — The Hendrix College baseball team used a trio of big innings to defeat the University of the Ozarks 19-11 at Lonnie Qualls Field on Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors (4-5) pounded out 19 hits and scored four runs in the sixth and the eighth and capped the day off with a six-run top of the ninth. The 19 runs was tied third most in a game in program history. 

Collin Radack went 4-for-6 with the grand slam and two runs scored to lead Hendrix. Clark Sims was 3-for-5 with a double and four runs scored.  Matt Simmons added three hits and Aaron Bowen drove in three. Harr had a pair of doubles and Raskin and Womack also had two hits each.

Senior starter Matt Diehl (2-0) picked up the win for the Warriors, striking out two and surrendering 11 hits, five earned runs and a walk in 5.1 innings. Freshman Clanton Wood struck out one in a scoreless inning and sophomore Justin Mosbey recorded two-thirds of an inning without allowing a run. Starter Cedor lasted just 2.1 innings and allowed two hits, three runs, four walks and hit three batters with four strikeouts. 

The Warriors will play a three-game series at home this weekend with Webster University. Saturday’s double-header will begin at 1 p.m.
